Junior Golf

Retford Golf Club has a very active Junior Section of some 60+ players. They have over 20 Cups and Trophies to play for each year as well as 12 inter-club matches in the Nottinghamshire Junior League and Dukeries Shield. This is, of course, in addition to the hours of friendly/social golf played by Junior members, especially during school holidays.

The section provides over 35 hours of coaching, by the Club Professional Craig Morris, for the Junior members each year, which has helped develop their skills to the extent that 6 Juniors played representative golf for the County during 2007.

Juniors are accepted from the age of 8 until they reach 18 years of age when they move to the intermediate category which allows them to play adult golf but still at reduced rates. The subscriptions for Juniors are some of the lowest in the County and range from £45 for Juniors at 10 years old or younger up to £100 for 17 year olds.

The section operates its own Committee under the Chairmanship of Junior Organiser Roger Hough and raises its own funds to support the very active programme. The Club has in place a Child Protection Policy to ensure that the well being of all children is paramount.

To join this active section simply complete an application form and you and your parents/guardian will be invited along to the club to meet with Junior Organiser Roger Hough and his Co-organiser Christine Basford to chat through the benefits of membership of the Junior Section of Retford Golf Club.
